Dreyfuss on Hannity & Colmes

Those of you interested in parsing my encounter with David Horowitz, Sean Hannity, and Alan Colmes on Tuesday night can read the whole text here. In it, against all odds, I struggle to make the point that those who say that America's overweening support for Israel inflames Arab and Muslim opinion are not exactly making a radical statement. To wit:

DREYFUSS: The fact is he made the most rational point you could make, which is that America's support for Israel is, indeed, a motivating force for Muslim political anger at the United States and its Middle East policies.

HANNITY: That's outrageous.

DREYFUSS: That's not a controversial statement.

I remember when David Horowitz published Ramparts magazine and his political passions were based in reality. He came from a politically leftist family in Sunnyside, Queens. His parents, God rest their souls, must be turning over in their graves.

Gee, Robert. Why did they bother inviting you on, if they didn't let you speak? Check my piece on Horowitz (and his ilk) in the latest issue of Public Resistance.

Chris White:

Commendations for perseverance and production of both the longest sentence on the show, and the longest meaningful sentence!!

Thank God you got the final comment in. How infuriating that Horowitz and Hannity wouldn't let you speak! And they put words in everyone's mouths!!
